TAD Reference Disc Player / DAC
The D700 is TAD's flagship CD/SACD player, and doubles as a high-performance standalone DAC thanks to its digital inputs and re-clocking circuitry.
A third-generation Ultra-High C/N Master Clock (UPCG), originally derived from high-speed digital communication base station technology, anchors its timing accuracy, while a silent, high-precision transport mechanism and die-cast aluminum chassis (styled after the stone walls of Japanese castles) keep vibration and noise to a minimum. A physically separate power supply with a 400VA toroidal transformer, unusually large for a disc player, rounds out the design.
