Lab12 dac1 reference Non-Oversampling DAC with Tube Output
Dac1 reference is Lab12's flagship DAC, built around the idea that non-oversampling conversion gets closer to an analog-like sound than heavily processed digital designs.
Eight multibit Philips DAC chips run in a complex parallel configuration right after an efficient digital receiver stage, feeding an output stage built around two dual-triode tubes for I/V conversion. Six separate regulated power supplies and a toroidal transformer keep noise down at every stage, refined from the same core as Lab12's multi-award-winning Dac1 Special Edition.
